The Mountains We Climb

About this time last year, I had just relocated to Essex Jct., I had just reached my fundraising goal, and I had just experienced my first session in the recording studio. Whoa!

Looking back on your year, what trails did you blaze along your own life-mountains?

It’s fascinating to notice that behind each summit of achievement, there is so much work: emotional, physical, mental, financial, interpersonal, spiritual. Thanks to social media, we often only see each other’s peaks - each other’s summits of success. Very rarely do we get to journey inward to glimpse the actual process: the shedding of old habits or thought patterns; the fears and mental blocks lying to us that maybe we can’t do what our hearts yearn for the most; the pen to the paper, the body to the mat, the negotiating, the arguments, the compromises; the hoarfrost as we reach the artic zones of our minds where the air is thinner and colder and the dazzling sunlight is almost close enough to touch.
Only once we’ve done the work, THEN there is a B-E-A-UUUUTIFUL view from the top as we take in the fruits of our perseverance.

Reflecting on the span of twelve months is so heartening.

Try it. Who did you see? Where did you go? How many challenges or new feats did you overcome? What heavy or limiting beliefs did you let go of?
As we close in on the Autumnal Equinox, which is Earth’s way of closing Herself in for the colder month’s ahead in our Northern Hemisphere, give yourself permission to smile and be proud of all you accomplished.

The first song I’m thinking to release, This Old Grave, is showing up with new energy. I don’t want to share exactly what I have in store for that song, as I’m not ready to show my cards. So I am taking the time I need to incubate the creative process on this one.

Instead of declaring when I think the song will be released, I simply ask for your patience and trust in me as I continue to dive deeper into how this creative process is unraveling before me, how the trail is presenting itself, where the blazes are, and how best to reach them.

As always, thank you for being here on this journey with me!
